Hello, and what this place is for
Why I'm setting up a personal site in 2026, and what I plan to put here.
I’ve meant to do this for years. Finally got around to it.
This site is going to be a slow, deliberate place. I want to write about things I actually work on day to day. Running Kafka Connect at enterprise scale. Building data infrastructure from scratch in a new geography. Lately, where conversational AI fits into operational data tooling.
What you’ll find here
A few rough categories.
Engineering notes. Short pieces on things I’ve debugged, designed, or had to undo. Disaster recovery, observability migrations, control-plane re-architectures, the un-glamorous parts of managed infrastructure.
Career and leadership. What it’s been like to be the first hire for a team, twice. What I got right, what I didn’t, what I’d tell someone earlier in the journey.
AI in the data stack. I’m currently leading work on a conversational AI agent that surfaces insights across a fragmented operational data landscape. I’ll write about what’s working and what’s painful. I’m also building duodoc on the side, a collab layer for AI-generated HTML docs.
Musings. Sometimes I just want to think out loud.
A note on cadence
I’m going to aim for something between “weekly” and “when I have something to say.” I’d rather post a half-finished thought I actually believe in than a polished one I don’t.
If something resonates, or doesn’t, find me at the links in the footer.
A.
